Update on Virginia

Update: So far over 300 genealogies have been added to Virginia Pioneers.  Also, this year I have made a concentrated effort to digitize last wills and testaments for various Virginia counties. With 400 years of history and no one but myself to do the work, the task seems daunting. However, progress is being made and a number of counties are already published to the website. The saying is that genealogy is "a labor of love". So true. Because I love genealogy and believe that information should be viewable on the internet without having to leave the comforts of home, the work is being accomplished without funding and at my own expense.  My collections date from 1964. For many years, in order to consolidate (and share) data, I wrote books, mostly published by Genealogical Publishing Company and Willow Bend Books. However, the internet offers much faster results for everyone. Considering all the work we put into tracing our families and accumulatiing data, we need the internet.  During 2013, my primary focus will continue , that is, upon adding more old wills.  Thank you for all of the work which you accomplish and for your friendship. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
